One work in the series encapsulates a paperback copy of Gaston Bachelard’s The Psychoanalysis of Fire in clear paraffin wax. Paraffin, a material that melts through heat and can itself become fuel, physically seals a book devoted to the symbolic and psychological life of fire. The gesture changes the volume from a readable source into a preserved but inaccessible sculptural object. Displayed on a transparent acrylic stand or placed among other books, the work stages a tension between knowledge and material transformation: the text remains visible, but its contents can no longer be reached without destroying its new form.
