A performance sells one-cent coins as art objects for 99 cents each, using a pricing gun and a circular exchange of payment and change.

Made with Dylan Wahl, each one-cent coin was labeled `$0.99` with a pricing gun and offered to the public. Buyers paid with a one-dollar bill and received two pennies in return: the purchased coin and one cent in change. The transaction continued until all the pennies had been given away. By selling currency at many times its face value, the work creates a circular exchange among price, material value, artistic designation, and belief. The label performs the “enchantment,” temporarily converting the smallest unit of currency into an art object.
