TRUCK NUTS, sculpture series, 2018–2025

A sculptural series turns mass-produced, testicle-shaped vehicle accessories upside down and remakes them through labor-intensive processes to examine representations of masculinity at their most vulnerable.

Developed between 2018 and 2025, the project appropriates a familiar emblem of automotive masculinity, reverses its orientation, and translates it through handmade materials. Repetition and material change move the form between body, ornament, commodity, and sculpture, using humor and craft to expose the vulnerability within exaggerated displays of masculinity.

Materials and iterations

The series includes cement, plaster, clay, leather, wax, slip-cast glazed stoneware, and functional objects including speed bags.
