PÉROLAS (PEARLS), sculpture and performance, 2013–2014
A sculpture and performance project follows three pearls from small exhibited objects into a public action of ascent and disappearance.
The project began in the United States in 2013 with three small sculptures exhibited at Michigan State University and the Michigan Institute of Contemporary Art. In 2014, during an occupation of Cidadela Cultural Antarctica by artist groups and social-justice movements in Joinville, three pearls were carried into the sky by helium balloons.
Realized with Kethlen Kohl and Marcos Alexandre, the performance was documented in six photographs later exhibited at the Joinville Art Museum in Brazil and Brock University in Canada.
