STAR 13, 3D-printed interactive sculpture and oracular system, 2026
A 66-piece pentacube system combines a 7×7×7 spatial puzzle, a free-form construction set, and an experimental oracle built around a concealed 13-cell star-shaped chamber.
The pieces can be assembled into a 7×7×7 cube surrounding the concealed chamber or used for free-form construction. For oracular play, participants draw 11 pieces and divide the sequence into groups of four, three, and four—past, present, and future. They interpret the sequence through a symbolic lexicon based first on the pieces’ morphology and behavior, then on human and animal archetypes and traditions including astrology, alchemy, and magic. The same pieces can be rearranged in response to the reading. By joining combinatorial geometry with collective play and divination, the work proposes a system that participants can expand, reinterpret, and reinvent.
