The latest iteration of the artist hoes were created for the Deflagração exhibit, held at Sala Edi Balod at UNESC (University of the Extreme South of Santa Catarina), in Criciúma, Brazil, in July of 2022. Curated by Maurício Bittencourt.
The first Artist Hoes were created in 2009 for a curated group show in Joinville, Brazil. They came in different colors and materials. The fluffy pink hoe lived a long life and circulated in various spaces. It was on display for around one full year at a local LGBT dance club. When I picked it up, the club owner told me it was almost stolen more than once, by the public. I was flattered. Sadly I lost track of it upon moving to the US, and it is now lost.
